Sports Premium Grant
Sport Premium Overview
At Launceston Primary School we believe PE and Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better. For our school to be able to ‘nurture curious minds to learn through adventure, play and exploration' effectively we need to develop our pupils' physical education, adoption of a healthy and active lifestyle and engage them appropriately in competitive sport.
How will our annual improvements will be sustainable in the future?
Something which underpins all of our Sports Development Plans, is ensuring that there is a 'legacy' for the future. Staff training, via use of specialist teachers to work alongside, has the biggest impact day-to-day. For example, our specialist PE/Forest School coaches act as 'coaches' to support the skills of our teachers to then deliver these sessions in the future, or during extra sessions in the school week. In addition, investment into PE equipment and resource provides ongoing high quality provision. And finally, we invest in Service Level Agreements which promote and facilitate 'competition and collaboration' with our local schools and Secondary school (Launceston College); ensuring a legacy of competitive sport in our local area.
